L’édition 2012 du Concours, dans les montagnes du Drankensberg, en Afrique du Sud, fut l’occasion de développer la première « épreuve terrain »: la situation où non seulement le droit sort des livres, mais aussi où la discussion sort des salles de réunion.
The 2012 edition of the Competition, in the Drankensberg Mountains, South Africa, was an opportunity to develop the first « field test »: the situation where not only does law come out of books, but also where discussions come out of meeting rooms.
Les abords de l’hôtel avaient été étudiés. The surroundings of the hotel were studied.
Le matériel avait été préparé et les lieux avaient été repérés. The materials were prepared and the places were looked at.

Ce fut la première « vraie » épreuve terrain, malgré des premiers ballons d’essai en 2003, tant à Nafplio qu’à Jesolo et en 2011 à Najac. Après des épreuves terrain moins sophistiquées en 2013 en Thaïlande et 2014 au Portugal – en raison des contextes urbains – les épreuves terrain de 2015, dans la forêt (fictive) de Nampo près de Charlottesville, de 2016, sur les montagnes au-dessus du Lac Léman, de 2017, sous la légère neige de Bordjomi ont précédé la première épreuve terrain de nuit, en 2018, au-dessus du lac dOhrid… et les deux épreuves terrain d’Obernai en 2019. En attendant la suite…
It was the first « real » field test, despite the first attempts in 2003, both in Nafplio and Jesolo and in 2011 in Najac. After less sophisticated field tests in 2013 in Thailand and 2014 in Portugal – due to urban contexts – the field tests, in 2015 in the (fictitious) Nampo forest near Charlottesville, in 2016, on the mountains above Léman Lake, in 2017, under the light snow of Borjomi preceded the first night field test in 2018 over Ohrid Lake… and the two Obernai field tests in 2019. While waiting for the next ones….
